I miss you Merlot — you were such a spunk kid!

by San on August 25, 2008

Yes, i am sad, Merlot is missing, gone, stolen??  I do not write here often, because sometimes not sure what i can share —-they are my parrots, they are pals, but not like they do agility, or seemingly have much i can share of interest to all…..???

they are just family here!

But Merlot the maroon bellied conure, smallest bird here, my sweet lil pal, my handsome guy is gone. I was gone for the weekend, and the apartment had to be worked on…..but i am trusting and had no fear.  My pal comes over to care for them, but doubled checked them, tripled check, and they had all the water,  pellets and  fruit.  That means, Merlot did not have a reason to leave.  Chiquita the sun conure, Bobbers the blue crowned, and Merlot the maroon bellied kid all live in the same cage, and only merlot was missing….??? —– the door was never left open!

i told you he was hand —– some!

I took Roger, the senegal, and Jordan the grey with me to the hotel, but not Merlot.  He has gone with me to the hotel, and he would be the one that was bold, for maroon bellied conures are, despite their size.  Merlot would climb down and nestle himself under the  bed covers, quiet and comfy!  I would have to find  him and put him back in his crate!  He was so confident.

i should have taken merlot too!  I have taken merlot and left bobbers and chiquita home alone — merlot is quiet, bobbers and chiquita can be two of the noisest conures!

we can be pals rani macaw —— size does not matter!

I miss you Merlot and I do not know exactly what happen.  He loved home and would not stray far.  He had no reason to leave.  My pal saw him Saturday, but not Sunday.  The tray and all doors were permanently closed, and still closed/latched when i checked.

i told you, size does not matter, and i will still say NO, you can not have my bread!  (that is bobbers the blue crowned macaw —– they are pals!)

hey jordan, share the bowl!

If he is stolen, i hope he is cared for.  I saw no feathers on the ground, so i do not think a cat got him in my yard.  I try to think of all possibilities.

Merlot i loved you so much.  Not sure this post helps me, but i know this is when i know you were now gone forever.   I leave again this weekend, and i think i will lock the birds in the house, and take a few more with me! I do not know what else to do.

Please smile at the cutest pics of merlot —-my silly lil guy!

thanks for kind thoughts, but think he got out of the one door to food bowl, that was not latched via the manufacture hook…so he pushed it and out he went, in search for water??? the water container was on the ground, but it was not days, he might have been without water—– i have since gotten several bottles, so no way to be out of water, or if one bottle gets stuck, the others will work……he was the silent one….and he left two pals behind.

and yes, my birds become part of my life, and they all have personalities, even if they are not friendly to the other birds here.

stay tuned for new bird news….

beakie kisses : >
